Maan puolustusvoimat

Maan puolustusvoimat on taidetta, tiedettä, toimijuutta ja aktivismia yhteen kietova alusta ja kollektiivi. Meitä motivoi tarve ja aie suojella kotiplaneettaamme, sekä suhdettamme Maahan ja toisiimme - niin ihmisiin kuin muunlajisiin. Puramme puolustamiseen ja turvallisuuden käsitteeseen liittyvää kieltä, ruumiillisuutta, ja hierarkioita, leikitellen militaristisella sanastolla ja liikekielellä niitä haltuunottaen ja merkityksiä uudelleenjärjestellen: ohjaten niitä todelliseen maata, metsää ja meitä hoivaavaan Maanpuolustustyöhön. Maan puolustusvoimien tämänhetkisiä jäseniä ovat Aino Johansson, Sofia Simola, Maria Rannanheimo, Riina Hannula ja Oona Leinovirtanen.

Maan puolustusvoimat pystyttää väliaikaisen tukikohdan Ärjänsaaren maastoon ja tarjoaa osallistavia ekosomaattisia Maanpuolustusharjoitteita. Paikalla koetaan myös saareen luotu Maanpuolustustahtoa nostattava paikkasidonnainen esitys.

The Earth Forces

The Earth Forces is a platform and collective that combines art, science, agency and activism. We are motivated by the need and intention to protect our home planet, as well as our relationship with the Earth and each other - both humans and non-humans. We dismantle the language, physicality and hierarchies associated with defence and the concept of security, playing with militaristic vocabulary and business language, taking them over and rearranging their meanings: directing them towards the real National Defence work that takes care of the land, the forest and us. Current members of the Finnish Defence Forces are Aino Johansson, Sofia Simola, Maria Rannanheimo, Riina Hannula and Oona Leinovirtanen.

The Earth Forces will set up a temporary base on the terrain of Ärjänsaari and offer participatory ecosomatic National Defence exercises. A site-specific performance created on the island to raise the will to defend the country will also be experienced there.
